讲座主题

The Physical Review journals have a strong pedigree. We first started publishing 130 years ago in 1893. When the APS got going around the turn of the century, they soon realized that publishing was a good way to support the physics community. If we look at this quote from the first president of the APS, we see that he says “To encourage the growth of any science, the best thing we can do is to meet together in its interest, to discuss its problems, to criticize each other’s work, and, best of all, to provide means by which the better portion of it may be made known to the world.”

This presentation and meeting with the audience are obviously a core tenant of the APS but having a means to share the best research through publication is also very important. In 1913 APS took over publishing the Physical Review and we have been part of the APS ever since. This means that the Physical Review publications are not for profit and our primary directive is to support physics researchers.
The objective for this presentation is to familiarize the audience with the Physical Review journals and what we publish. Then I will take you through the manuscript writing and publication process and share some insights from our editorial team.
